The Tone Philosopher 40 watt Vintage Gain!
This is "Plexi" tone refined and glorified. (No offense to Jim)
This combo offers insane versatility with truly organic tone. Couple this with the silky smooth clean and distortion tones emanating from a pair of EL34's and you'll find it to be right at home on stage or in the studio.
This amp is a reel treat to hear on stage. It packs plenty of stage ripping, intelligent and articulate volume.
If you like to turn everything up and go with it or if you consider yourself a clean player who needs an authentic hot rod, right on the edge capability. This one's for you.
Vintage half stack tones with cleans just a volume knob away in a 1/12 combo.
The TP-40 Vintage Gain' controls offer power and standby. Gain, Volume, Treble, Bass and Presence.
It also offers a Hi-Gain switch which lets you dial in the correct amount of front end drive. A "C-Cap" switch which lets you choose between British and American values for preamp frequency response and input headroom. The "T-Cap" switch lets you choose between 2 values in the treble section of the tone stack. The "Slope" switch offers the ability to select the frequency emphasis in the tone stack stage. Also the ability to select high input headroom to this stage for ultimate clean power. "M-Cap" allows the user to select between 3 values of tone stack caps for the mid range/mid bass spectrum in the tone stack. This is a must for tailoring your tone. "-FB" or negative feedback, this is a 3 position switch that is used in conjunction with the presence control. With the switch down, the presence acts like a normal presence control. Adding a shimmer to the high end. In the middle the switch is Neutral. Up, the switch makes the presence double as a mid range control. It's really neat. Very versatile.
The amp is equipped with a Warehouse Guitar Speaker Veteran 30. Or Jensen MOD 12-70. Both are a Perfect match.
If you fancy your self as a Les Paul driving son of a gun we recommend the WGS Veteran 30. If you are a Strat or tele player, the MOD 12-70 is calling your name.
There is a monumental difference between the two. For cleaner cleans and higher headroom with later speaker cone break up, we recommend the Jensen 12-70.
The WGS Veteran 30 (Made in Kentucky) is everything a Celstion Vintage 30 should be, and everything it shouldn't!) Less HONK!
